Grain Free Ingredients

With the increasing awareness of grain fillers and "Big Companies" using cheap bulking ingredients (low and high end alike) we decided to take a stand and go Grain Free with our treats,
Our alternative is Besan Flour, more identifiable as Chickpea Flour. It has a higher protein content, less starchy carbs, and is of course gluten and grain free. Along with Besan, we also use a little Tapioca to get the consistency right. We have found the texture softer, creating a wonderful biscuit for our doggies to enjoy!

Kelp provides many health benefits to dogs and humans

Kelp provides many health benefits to dogs and humans

Ingredients We Use:

Free Range Eggs
Our eggs are sourced from a local Canterbury farm with chickens who are REALLY free range, not just "uncaged" as bigger companies now state.

Carob
Carob is a chocolate alternative that dog's can ingest (as we all know chocolate is dangerous for doggies). Carob is slightly sweet, giving dogs something a little different form the ordinary savoury flavours of doggie foods. Visit here for the health benefits of Carob.

Kelp
Kelp is widely recognised for it's health benefits for humans. This sea-vegetable contains so many goodies, of which dogs can also benefit. The kelp we use is organic, and gathered from the South Island's coastlines, so local to Smoothie HQ. We use a small amount of Powdered Kelp in our Kelp Coins (small dosage is important). You can find the benefits of kelp in dogs here.

Coconut Oil
Coconut oil was a hot topic for human health a couple of years back, and many people still use it in cooking, beauty regimes and skin care. Did you know Coconut Oil is also beneficial for dogs? Our Peanut treats have hand-made peanut butter made with ONLY peanuts and coconut oil (no added baddies). You can have a look here at the benefits for Coconut Oil in dogs.
